Men's Health Foundation is searching for an experienced Grants Accountant. Ideal candidate will have the following requirements:
1) Extensive understanding of accounting for grants, to include allocations & allowable costs
2) familiarity with grants awarded through government agencies.

The Grants Accountant will report directly to the Controller and will oversee a portfolio of grants awarded by Los Angeles County. The successful candidate is expected to understand and apply broad knowledge of various sponsoring agencies' requirements as it relates to their day-to-day responsibilities. The responsibilities include the financial management of grants to ensure compliance, maximization of expenses to the approved budget, timely billing and collections of grants receivable. The successful candidate will generate data, perform analysis and problem solve. The Grants Accountant will work closely with the development team and the programs team to ensure the grant financial requirements are being met.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)
Monitors budgets and approves expenditures related to institutional grants, provides analytical and management support for activities related to grants, assures adherence to line item allocations and allowable costs.
Prepares various complex analytical accounting schedules, projections, reports, and materials for various internal and external agencies and administrators
Completes and submits financial reports to awarding entities within deadlines
Shares notices or other updates with grant leadership to ensure effective administration of program.
Researches and interprets compliance issues for state and federal grant programs
Participates in grant administration meetings as necessary.
Maintains all grant financial records.
Other duties may be required, as needed
Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
CPA license a plus.
Must possess excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office programs.

Must be able to pass a background check to include a 7-year criminal, 10-year SSN & employer history reference check.
